Handstand Appeal Open Day 2009

On the 13th of September we held an open day in aid of the Hanstand appeal.

The weather was very kind to us and encouraged lots of visitors.

We had an excellent tombola which went extremely well and also our chairman went into stocks. A plastic duck round up which the youngsters really enjoyed.

One of our members did a timed course around some buoys which people had to beat, and which one youngster did winning themselves £5!!!!!

We also had guess the sweets in a jar, and a resident from the Redruth area was lucky the one.

We eventually raised £375 for the appeal which we were very pleased at

Annual Open Day 2009

Our annual open day was held on the 9th August this year, it turned out to be a great success, despite having a few showers in the morning everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

We were visited by the Camborne pond hoppers, Johns Dockyard and our friends from near Manchester with their excellent model of the Falmouth Life Boats, past and present.

Best boat in show was won by G Copeland (Helston).

We did very well with our raffle which will allow us to do a few things that need doing.

So all our club members went home happy!
